Diagnosis, Therapy, and Medication Management all at the same place.
Each appointment starts with a complete psychiatric evaluation. Burd Mental Health offers a unique blend of creative and evidence based mental health treatment options. We take a holistic and integrative approach and base each treatment plan on the individual’s specific needs. Care is approached collaboratively, and you are part of the treatment team, and are given options for your treatment when safe and appropriate.

Holistic mental health care means looking at the whole person, not just symptoms or a diagnosis. It means trying to get to the Root Cause of symptoms and considers emotional health, physical health, sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships, lifestyle, medical history, medications, and personal goals. The goal is to create a treatment plan that supports overall well-being and helps the patient feel healthier, more balanced, and more in control of their life.
-
Integrative psychiatric care combines traditional psychiatric treatment with other complimentary and function medicine approaches. This means on top of the must up to date information about diagnosis, medication management, and various therapy approaches, we promote lifestyle changes, encourage and assess for adequate nutrition, stress reduction, exercise, mindfulness, supplements when appropriate, and coordination with other healthcare providers.
The goal is to treat the Root Cause, not just the symptoms, while using safe, evidence-informed options to support mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

A psychiatric nurse practitioner, also called a PMHNP, CRNP-PMH is an advanced practice nurse who specializes in mental health care. Psych NP’s have advanced graduate degrees and are licensed to evaluate symptoms, diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy support, prescribe medications when appropriate, and create treatment plans for concerns for many psychiatric conditions. Psychiatric nurse practitioners bring advanced clinical training together with a nursing-based, whole-person approach, helping patients feel heard, understand their treatment options, and stay engaged in care.
